Sarah Ruiz

Sarea-Flo Productions

For two summers, I have worked at Sarea-Flo Productions. I served as a Marketing and Publicist Assistant in my first year with this SFP and in my second year, I was a social media assistant. This engagement was made possible through a partnership with the Marion Barry Summer Youth Employment Program in Washington D.C.

Some of my key responsibilities encompassed drafting and publishing press releases, curating engaging blog posts, managing updates to the company's LinkedIn profile, crafting social media content for Instagram, and attending and conducting interviews at community events for media coverage. I actively contributed as a member of the "Writers Group," where I authored media articles and documentary scripts.

I worked on press releases that were uploaded onto the website & linkedin page.

I created weekly blog posts for the website.

I created the Linkedin page and updated the page with press releases and blog posts.

During this program, I was required to write two media articles. One of them was an article about who has the best pupusas in the DMV.

I wrote a piece on Queen P who is the Queen of Beat Ya Feet. This is a DC style of dance. Read the article to find out why she is the Gem of D.C.
