Sarah Ruiz

In my senior year of undergraduate studies, I enrolled in a Multimedia Writing class that provided me with practical exposure to composing software.

Within this course, I meticulously conceptualized and designed a series of multimodal projects, drawing from my personal experiences and evolving perspectives.

Multimedia Writing Class

This assignment allowed me to work with still images to compose a photo essay. The purpose of this project was to change a perception, or stereotype, or create a new conversation about a problem in society that involves negative visual labeling. I chose the topic of "Abolishing Ice."

Fifty Shots Project

This assignment allowed me to work with datasets/ collection of facts to create a persuasive multimedia text. The topic I chose was Zoom & Webex ettiquette.

Infographic Project

Concept 60 Project

This project consisted of a 60-second video text that illustrates a concept and/or the power of multimodality. I chose to create a project on the topic of "Issues in Reggaeton with the representation of Women."

Barriers Undocumented Latinx Adults Face In Higher Education Documentary

This video composition integrated a variety of well-chosen and carefully arranged assets from solid sources. I designed a critical and creative video representation of the barriers undocumented latinx adults face when pursing a higher education.
